“Saltaire” Concepts
Saltaire is one of my written short stories about an isolated town on a cliff. Beneath the stilts keeping the houses up, an inexplicable alien lurks, not necessarily evil but driving the town mad with the shock of seeing something so different from their insular lives. The alien has the closest human description of “a rich darkness, any curve or edge folding impossibly in on itself, with its surface duplicating dizzyingly like bubbles multiplying in sudsy water or a million eyes opening one by one.”
