Senior Thesis Paintings

My thesis chronicles the relationship between humanity and nature by depicting eldritch mythological creatures created by humans as a manifestation of their fear of the natural world. These creatures spiral out of control from humanity’s dominion through their wild quality.

Initial Sketches

These ideations were created in the research section of my thesis class. For each concept, I began with pencil sketches to roughly ideate. Then I used watercolor in figuring out the color palettes to keep each sketch loose. This ensured I didn’t get too caught up in the details while still fleshing out each concept.
